Christian devotion for trauma: healing from past wounds
What happened to you is real, and it is not your identity. “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds” (Psalm 147:3, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Healing From Past Wounds, is a gentle space for old pain. Go at your own pace; each day is about 5–8 minutes, with a reading, one truth, a short prayer, and one small step.
The seven days
- Day 1, You are not what happened (Psalm 147:3)
- Day 2, Safe with the Shepherd (Psalm 23:1–4)
- Day 3, Truth over the old script (John 8:31–32)
- Day 4, Grief is holy ground (Romans 12:15)
- Day 5, Boundaries are wisdom (Proverbs 4:23)
- Day 6, You don’t heal alone (Galatians 6:2)
- Day 7, He works even this for good (Romans 8:28–29)
Please get care too: trauma healing often needs more than a devotion. If flashbacks, numbness, or thoughts of harming yourself are heavy, reach a pastor, a trauma-informed counselor, or a doctor. In the U.S. you can call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) any time. If you are in danger right now, call 911. Faith and professional care belong together.
If the hurt came through a marriage, the marriage journey includes a safety note, and the grief journey walks through loss.
