Faith 417

Freedom from shame: a Christian devotional

Shame says you’re too stained to be loved, and that if people really knew, they’d walk away. The gospel says something better. “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Freedom From Shame, covers how God clothed the ashamed, confession that cleanses, the Lord who lifts your head, community that heals, and walking unashamed. Each day is about 5–8 minutes, with a reading, one truth, a short prayer, and one small step.

The seven days

Deep shame, especially from abuse or trauma, often needs counseling alongside faith. Reach out to a pastor or counselor. Shame caused by someone else’s sin against you is not your guilt. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), or call 911.
