Purity and freedom from lust: a Christian devotional with truth and grace

Lust thrives in secret and shame. Freedom starts in the light. John wrote, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Purity and Freedom From Lust, offers truth, grace, and practical holiness without a shame spiral: fleeing temptation and pursuing righteousness with others, guarding your eyes, renewing your desire for God, and accountability. Each day is about 5–8 minutes, with a reading, one truth, a short prayer, and one small step.

The seven days

• Day 1, Bring it into the light (1 John 1:7–9)
• Day 2, You are not your temptation (Romans 8:1)
• Day 3, Flee and pursue (2 Timothy 2:22)
• Day 4, Guard the eyes (Job 31:1)
• Day 5, Renew desire for God (Psalm 63:1)
• Day 6, Accountability is freedom (Ecclesiastes 4:9–10)
• Day 7, Walk pure by grace (Titus 2:11–12)

If lust is tied to compulsion, porn addiction, or past trauma, add pastoral counseling or a trusted recovery group. Grace includes getting help.
