Faith 417

Courage when faith costs: a Christian devotional for hardship and pushback

Following Jesus can cost you: a friendship, a promotion, a place at the family table, or far more. Jesus said, “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:10, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Courage When Faith Costs, covers why resistance shouldn’t surprise us, blessing those who persecute, defending your hope with gentleness and respect, the Lord who stands with you, and enduring with your eyes on Jesus. Each day is about 5–8 minutes, with a reading, one truth, a short prayer, and one small step.

The seven days

• Day 1, You’re not imagining the cost (John 15:18–20)
• Day 2, Blessed in the pressure (Matthew 5:10–12)
• Day 3, Do not repay (Romans 12:14)
• Day 4, Stand with truth and gentleness (1 Peter 3:15–16)
• Day 5, You are not abandoned (2 Timothy 4:16–17)
• Day 6, Joy that confuses the dark (Acts 5:41)
• Day 7, Endure with hope (Hebrews 12:1–3)
