Faith 417
Grief after divorce: a Christian devotional for when a marriage ends
When a marriage ends, the grief is real, even when the ending was necessary. “The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Grief After Divorce or Separation, makes room for honest mourning and walks through lament, remembering you are not the sum of this ending, forgiveness as freedom, practical next steps, and safe community. Each day is about 5–8 minutes.
The seven days
- Day 1, This grief is real (Psalm 34:18)
- Day 2, Lament without rushing (Psalm 42:3–5)
- Day 3, You are not the sum of this ending (Isaiah 43:1)
- Day 4, Forgiveness as freedom (Ephesians 4:31–32)
- Day 5, Practical next steps (Psalm 32:8)
- Day 6, Safe community (Galatians 6:2)
- Day 7, God is not finished (Romans 8:28–29)
Divorce grief can include depression, anxiety, or crisis. Lean on a pastor, counselor, or lawyer as needed. If you feel unsafe or hopeless, call or text 988, or call 911.
