Faith 417
Healthy boundaries: a Christian devotional on loving with limits
Saying no can feel unloving, especially if you were taught that good Christians never disappoint anyone. Scripture says, “Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life.” (Proverbs 4:23, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Healthy Boundaries with Wisdom, looks at how Jesus withdrew to pray and stayed on mission, how to let your yes be yes and your no be no, and how bearing one another’s burdens and carrying your own load fit together. Each day is about 5–8 minutes, with a reading, one truth, a short prayer, and one small step.
The seven days
- Day 1, Guarding is biblical (Proverbs 4:23)
- Day 2, Jesus had limits (Mark 1:35–38)
- Day 3, Let your yes be yes (Matthew 5:37)
- Day 4, Boundaries and love together (Galatians 6:2, 5)
- Day 5, Expect pushback (Galatians 1:10)
- Day 6, Repair and reset (Ephesians 4:26–27)
- Day 7, The Lord is your portion (Psalm 16:5–6)
If you need boundaries because someone is abusing or threatening you, safety comes first. Talk with a pastor or counselor, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233, or call 911 if you are in danger.
