Faith 417
Strength for exhaustion: a Christian devotional for physical and mental weariness
Sometimes you’re not discouraged or anxious; you’re just worn out, in body and mind. David prayed, “In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for you alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Strength for Physical and Mental Weariness, reminds you that Jesus Himself sat down tired by a well. It covers rest and sleep as trust, limiting what drains you, and grace for today’s load only. Each day is about 5–8 minutes, with a reading, one truth, a short prayer, and one small step.
The seven days
- Day 1, Weariness is human (Psalm 6:6–9)
- Day 2, He gives power to the faint (Isaiah 40:29)
- Day 3, Sleep and Sabbath as trust (Psalm 4:8)
- Day 4, Jesus knows tired (John 4:6)
- Day 5, Limit what drains (Proverbs 4:23)
- Day 6, Strength for today’s load only (Matthew 6:34)
- Day 7, Renewed to continue (2 Corinthians 4:16)
Ongoing exhaustion can have medical causes. If weariness doesn’t lift with rest, talk with your doctor.
