Faith 417
Free from envy and comparison: a Christian devotional
Scrolling can make everyone else look further along: the house, the marriage, the kids, the career. Paul wrote from prison, “I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content.” (Philippians 4:11, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Free From Envy and Comparison, covers naming envy, contentment learned in Christ, rejoicing with those who rejoice, guarding what you look at, and fixing your eyes on Jesus instead of the lane next to you. Each day is about 5–8 minutes, with a reading, one truth, a short prayer, and one small step.
The seven days
- Day 1, Name the comparison (James 3:16)
- Day 2, You are not behind (Psalm 139:14)
- Day 3, Contentment is learned (Philippians 4:11–13)
- Day 4, Celebrate others on purpose (Romans 12:15)
- Day 5, Guard the scroll (Psalm 101:3)
- Day 6, Run your race (Hebrews 12:1–2)
- Day 7, Rest in your portion (Psalm 16:5–6)
