Faith 417
Freedom from greed: a Christian devotional on contentment and generosity
Money fear says there won’t be enough. Greed says there’s never enough. Jesus warned, “Take care, and be on your guard against all covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions.” (Luke 12:15, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Freedom From Greed, confronts the hunger for more: serving God rather than money, cheerful generosity, treasure in heaven, contentment, honest books, and open hands. Each day is about 5–8 minutes, with a reading, one truth, a short prayer, and one small step.
The seven days
- Day 1, Name the hunger (Luke 12:15)
- Day 2, You cannot serve both (Matthew 6:24)
- Day 3, Generosity breaks greed (2 Corinthians 9:7)
- Day 4, Treasure in heaven (Matthew 6:19–21)
- Day 5, Contentment practice (1 Timothy 6:6–10)
- Day 6, Honest books (Proverbs 11:1)
- Day 7, Open hands ongoing (Acts 20:35)
