Faith 417
Waiting on God devotional: for the long middle
Waiting is one of the hardest places to keep faith, especially when the answer hasn’t come and you don’t know when it will. David wrote, “Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!” (Psalm 27:14, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Waiting on God, is for the long middle between prayer and answer. It covers courage, trusting God’s timing without demanding a certain outcome, faithfulness today, guarding against bitterness, and worship when nothing has changed yet. Each day is about 5–8 minutes.
The seven days
- Day 1, Waiting is active (Psalm 27:14)
- Day 2, His timing is kind (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
- Day 3, Hope deferred still hopes (Romans 8:25)
- Day 4, Obey while you wait (Psalm 37:3–5)
- Day 5, Refuse bitter waiting (Hebrews 12:15)
- Day 6, Wait with worship (Habakkuk 3:17–19)
- Day 7, Strength renewed (Isaiah 40:31)
