Faith 417
Hope when prayers feel unanswered: a Christian devotional
You’ve prayed the same prayer for months or years, and heaven seems quiet. Jesus knew we would be tempted to give up. Luke writes that “he told them a parable to the effect that they ought always to pray and not lose heart.” (Luke 18:1, ESV). Faith 417’s seven-day journey, Hope When Prayers Feel Unanswered, covers persistent prayer, trusting God’s character, how Paul asked three times and received sufficient grace instead of removal, lament that ends in trust, and hope as an anchor for the soul. Each day is about 5–8 minutes, with a reading, one truth, a short prayer, and one small step.
The seven days
- Day 1, God hears even when quiet (Psalm 66:18–20)
- Day 2, Keep asking (Luke 18:1–8)
- Day 3, Trust His character (Romans 8:32)
- Day 4, Sometimes the answer is different (2 Corinthians 12:8–9)
- Day 5, Lament then praise (Psalm 13)
- Day 6, Stay in the story (John 11:21–26)
- Day 7, Hope anchors the soul (Hebrews 6:19)
